FAQ
Q: What Licensing Model is used for versaSRS HelpDesk?
A: Software Licensing is based on a defined 'Named Operator' model.
Unlike other products in the market VersaDev do not charge additional fees for a server application license. Dependant on the Edition required, licenses are purchased in bundles of 3, 5, 10, 20, 50 or Unlimited operators.
Operators (individuals specifically identified through the application) are granted permission to use the application - typically these people are the likes of helpDesk technicians, IT technicians, service technicians, sales consultants, or anyone who needs to use the application as part of their day-to-day job activities.
Your end users, customers, or requestors do not require a license. There is no limit to the number of requests that can be logged in the system - as requests can easily be raised directly via email or through the versaSRS HelpDesk Client Access Portal (known as versaCAT). versaCAT is supplied free and also includes source code to allow companies the ability to create their own internet/intranet call logging webform.
Think of this licensing model like Microsoft Outlook - you need a license of Outlook to use the application, but anyone can send you an email, and they don't need a license to do so.
A valid installation is defined as: one database instance of the application database and one installation of the application on a single server. Should you require more than one instance of the database and/or application additional fees are required. Please click here to request further details.
