FAQ
Q: How does the Resolve and Close option work in versaSRS exactly?
A: The behavior of the Update Type, Resolve and Close, is governed by the web.config setting EmailResolveAndClose and the Registry Key setting EmailResolveAndClose. Both settings should be set to the same value.
Usage Option 1: EmailResolveAndClose = 0, UpdateType = Resolve and Close
The Call Update window will display and Update button in the top left hand corner. The operator can define the user that resolved the Call if they did not. This information is recorded against the Call for reporting purposes. Any text entered in the message body area is saved against the audit log type of Resolve And Close and is NOT emailed to the Requestor(s). A Closed confirmation email will be sent to the requestor(s) if the Send closed confirmation email checkbox is enabled.
Usage Option 2: EmailResolveAndClose = 1, UpdateType = Resolve and Close
The Call Update window will display a Send button in the top left hand corner. The operator can define the user that resolved the Call if they did not. This information is recorded against the Call for reporting purposes. Any text entered in the message body area is saved against the audit log type of Resolve And Close and IS emailed to the Requestor(s). An additional Closed confirmation email will also be sent to the requestor(s) if the Send closed confirmation email checkbox is enabled.
Note: Changes to the Registry Key property EmailResolveAndClose will take effect once the VersaSRSMailOut Windows service is restarted.
